MLK Week is a citywide celebration honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., featuring community dinners, student and gospel choir workshops, and culminating in Tulsa’s annual MLK Parade.

Oratorical Speech Performance

ONE Gas, First Place Tower 15 East 5 Street.

The 1 place winner will be reciting the Dr. King’s classic “I have A Dream” speech. sponsored by ONE Gas.

'Dream Out Loud' Career Strategies for Student Success

Wed. Jan. 14, 2026

9:30 AM -1 PM

Tulsa Technology Center, Peoria Campus, 3850 N. Peoria

High School students in grades 10-12 will participate in career exploration sessions to enhance their career success, following a general session in the auditorium.

4 Annual Gospel Choir Workshop

Jan. 12-16, 2026

7 PM nightly

Antioch Baptist Church, 110 W. 56th Street North.

Hosted by The Booker School of Music. Participants will learn selected songs to be performed during the concert and the commemoration service.

“Keepin’ it Real” Student Leadership Forum

Fri. Jan, 16, 2026

10:00 AM -1:30 PM

OSU Tulsa.

Facilitated by BerThaddaeus Bailey, this forum will engage over 200 Tulsa-area high school students in a discussion on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy and activism, sponsored by Phillips Theological Seminary.

MLK Student Awards & Sponsor Dinner

We will honor winners of the student art, essay, and oratorical contests, culminating in a presentation of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech by the Oratorical Contest winner, sponsored by ONE Gas.
